Ok, I’ve been sort of inactive lately but that’s because I’m spending way too much time doodling, practicing and planning for a sekret project that I’m supposedly going to start this summer. I’m surprised that everything I draw these days turn out really good lol 8DDD;;; so I’d rather take full advantage of this momentarily leveled up state of mind instead of wasting it in doing other things XD I’ll be back once artblock strikes again heh.
In the mean time, here is some exciting news, well, at least to me :DDD
Those who know me closely know that, even if I don’t look like one, I’ve always been a fan of Batman 8D. I wasn’t fortunate enough to see all the movies but I’ve seen majority of them a couple of times and yes it’s *cartoons* are the only American animations that I’ve enjoyed watching aside from Avatar which I started just recently.
I was so excited when I learned that one of my most favorite animation companies, Production I.G, are taking part in the making and the art direction of the upcoming Batman: Gotham Knight animation. I read it’s going to be a six part anthology so I’m seriously looking forward to seeing how one of the most iconic superheros is going to be rendered in the hands of some of the best animation studios in Japan. The sneak preview that was leaked online before looks promising and has got me excited to see more. Now, the official site has been launched with a 2 minute teaser video.
Summer 2008. I can’t wait 8D
2008, it arrived so fast. Now that I look at the past year, I haven’t done anything significant. What a waste of life.
I’m planning to have a very productive 2008 insha’allah. I’ll work my ass off to get things right and mostly to improve in whatever I need to be.
Art-wise, I’m planning to make the best use of my free time in this year. I’ve significantly improved over the past few months and I’d like to keep it up. One of the things I’m going to focus on is traditional art. Ever since I’ve got this tablet last year, I’ve totally abandoned pencil and papers but hopefully not anymore. There is also the anatomy but I feel like It won’t be so much trouble so that leaves out coloring and composition. I’ll have to pay more attention to those even though I’ve got no idea how or what to do. I’ll manage somehow ._.;
Dunno why am I bothering with all this getting better resolutions but I just want to for my own self satisfaction.
Osh, time to start afresh and work harder \(≧ロ≦\)FIGHTO( /≧ロ≦)/
Best wishes to everyone out there and thank you for your continuous support and encouragement.

Its such a shame the file for the above picture got corrupted right in the middle while working on it. Lol, I got so infuriated and totally lost heart to complete it properly and thus the poor result. And here I was thinking I’d make a fancy new year pic. Damn procrastination. If only I started earlier, I’d have had some time to get it fixed.
And while at it, have a junk piece.

Dunno what reminded me of Mugen but he is here and I’m liking it lol. Gotta rewatch Samurai Champloo someday soon. I miss them ;3;
No matter how many times I watch the above video, I never get bored! Its just among the most creative things I’ve seen. I really love how the artists look goofy through out the video 8D and the patterns they come up with is just splendid.
The main painter, Daisuke Yamamoto, who also directs this video is a really talented artist. Going through The Rinpa Eshidan site and browsing other live painting videos and their individual galleries really inspires me. I’ve always had a fascination with the traditional woodblock print looking art and finding the galleries of these artists were like stumbling upon a treasure. Heh, I feel inspired!
You too, go visit their site and drop by their blog if you want to see some real creative artists. Its really fun and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
Updates
Probably, the last finished picture for this year. Group pictures are a pain in the back. Add cell shading to that and you’ll feel like wanting to jump out of the nearest window Orz. Remind me not to attempt doing both group images and cell shading together ever again!
Its been a long time since I’ve last used Photoshop for coloring. It was sort of fun at the end so I might give it more tries in the future.

And here, a junk piece. Someday, I’m gunna make you a decent fanart Kamina sama ;___; Believe in meeee~
