I’ve been having an art slump as of late not to mention another cold attack but thankfully not as severe as the previous ones. Too much things on my mind for now and I’m getting so worked up on a site I’m supposed to have it finished long long ago but the truth is, I didn’t even finalize the design. It’s so irritating to have more than three tasks to juggle. I’m definitely not a multi-tasker. Not at all.
Thanks to the runny nose, I took a break from works in hand and decided to read more mangas lol. I was recommended to give “7Seeds” a try and though I was a bit turned off but the old school art style, I’m really, REALLY, glad I read it. It’s amazing in every way possible. No, amazing is not even enough to describe how awesome this story is. I, rarely, get so attached to stories but “7Seeds” got me addicted right after the 3rd chapters alone !!!!!
My first impression was “OMGLOST” 8D but slowly as the story unfolded, things are getting as interesting as the storyline of LOST and maybe more. SERIOUSLY!

It is rare to come across a manga this good. While most mangas rely heavily on bishounen and rather thin plotlines, “7Seeds” doesn’t. This is truly a manga for the mature and opened minded. There aren’t much cute guys to make your heart go doki doki and no fan service. The art might be a put off at the beginning, specially if you aren’t used to the old school style but it progressively gets somewhat better in later volumes. It might make you want to discontinue reading but like Tomu sensei says in every chapter, “Please, stick to it” and I tell you if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on this manga, no matter what, Don’t stop !
This manga is positively riveting. Every single character is well developed. The twist and turns in the story keep you on the edge of your seat. Thoroughly engrossing, and working solely from what a good story teller should, plot, not pretty boys or girls. This manga manages to score a 10 from me, and trust me, it’s deserving of no less for it ’s character development alone.

Too bad the story is still ongoing. There are 12 volumes released so far with only 5 volumes scanlated. I’m patiently waiting for the next chapter and hoping it’d be out sometime soon. I hate cliffhangers T[]T.

Now that I’ve written all that well, not all of it since the quotation is sort of ganked off bakaupdates lol I hope you are convinced to give it a read. Please please please read it 8D. If you are a fan of “LOST” then you’ll love “7Seeds” to bits. Speaking of LOST, fourth season is resuming on Jan. 31st. I, seriously, can’t wait *3*

Some WIPs I’m currently doing even though I shouldn’t be starting new ones before finishing old ones. Guess I can’t help but do so to keep boredom away. This slump im in isn’t helping me complete these. I’m sure half if them will end up trashed once I recover because, frankly, I’m not liking any of it so far *aside from the Gokudera one lol*

And here a proof to myself that I can still draw fugly girls if I want to lol 8D.

7 hours of power outage this morning was sort of fun heh. I got to oversleep a little and sketch so much. YAY!

Third anniversary of [ escape ] is coming soon. I was thinking of doing something special on this occasion since I like the number 3 lol. Something like a special picture and a whole new layout for my site but I’m way too lazy to do that. I’ve spent so much time on the current theme so I don’t feel like throwing it away so early lol.

I’m actually reading Shoujo mangas instead of my usual shounen action filled ones! What a transition from manly bishounens to more feminine ones lulz! I’m particularly hooked to this series called “Anatolia story \ Red River”

I think I’ve read 15 volumes so far. I’m liking this style of art to bits and pieces. Its so elegant and full of beauty. I haven’t read any mangas drawn in this style before so it’s totally new for me *oogles at details and fwoshy hair XD* not to mention the main female character is not your usual dumb stupid and gutless highschooler who can’t control her hormones and lives in a pink world all the time. I can’t believe I’m liking a main female character in a shoujo manga lol.
I can’t wait till I finish reading it. Very interesting story with a nice plot and character development. I’m sure there are many other good shoujo titles but fluff stories aren’t my cup of tea not to mention I have so much dislike for stories involving teenagers and highschoolers lol.
The only downside is the poor scanlation quality. I, seriously, wouldn’t mind having the volumes of “Red River” on my shelves someday 8D
The story and art really worths it. Guess I’ll abandon life for another hour and finish another volume =P

Dunno what’s up with them or is it me who is changing but I know one thing for sure; I’m better off without the few of them in my life. I suppose it wasn’t real to begin with that’s why it easily fell apart even if we pretend it isn’t.
Oh well, I don’t have time for regretting or feeling melancholic now. I have better things to do with my life =)

Heh, I still didn’t watch the last two episodes of Mononoke even though it’s not like I’m busy with stuff or anything. I’ll probably give it a watch this week. I need some Kusuriuri action ♥
In the mean time, I’ll have to start a commission I’ve procrastinated long enough with *sorry Ranma kun* but I was waiting to improve a little before actually starting it =3=. Since it’s not going to happen overnight according to some friends, I suppose the only next step is to start sketching and hope it’ll look ok. There is also a website I have to design and code thanks to some bastards filing a complaint claiming we’ve used thier text wtf! D< *shakes fist*
And I have to supress this very very weired urge of wanting to bake\cook something fancy because I've been browsing so much delicious cooking sites. Well, cooking doesn't intrigue me as much as baking which I love very much but sadly, my family aren't that supportive in case a catastrophy occured. I hate to be the laughing stock of the family elders when something goes wrong =3=! which is probably why I never cook lol.
If nothing else, I want to, at least, give these gorgeous Cinnamon rolls a try. Never tried homemade ones before and I really want to see if I can do it right ( T∇T)

First two pictures drawn in 2008 (/o＼) and here I was thinking I’d be doing my best this year orz.
I’m so fixated on turquoise blue these days. Its slowly becoming my favorite color so now I have to try it out more often in order to figure out what colors works best with it. So far there is only red and light browns. I’ll abuse it a little more to sort out other combinations.

I feel totally blank right now but there is one totally random thing I’d like to speak out.
Drawings that are exact pixel per pixel carbon copies of already existing images or photos with no alteration whatsoever have no artistic merit in my humble opinion. No matter how amazingly true to the original the duplicate turns out, it’ll never ever impress me. Sure there is technique involved and a knowledge of tools not to mention painful work hours but the fact remains that the artist has added absolutely nothing creative to the final product and this sort of art will lead its maker to nowhere in terms of improvement and getting better in overall drawing. Evidence is the distorted proportions, mismatched shadings, highlighting and completely stiff and lifeless images drawn by the so called realism artists when no reference is being used. Coloring might be still as good but a trained eye can tell the difference between a real realism artist and a fake one pretty easily.

Don’t ask me why I’m talking about this lol. I just wanted to let it off my chest (￣▽￣)!
